I’m an immigrant. I’m grateful that an African American candidate with a foreign father won the election. He was raised by a single mother and later by his grandmother. He was completely a self-made man. He is one of us.

- Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance
- The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream (Vintage)
