U2 is set to release a new Album tomorrow (March 3, 2009) in North America called No Line On The Horizon.
Do you think the new album will do well? I’m keeping my expectation very low because I don’t want to get myself disappointed.
I think for top music brand such as U2, your past success could easily become your biggest enemy. That’s why I think the success of Apple in recent years has been truly remarkable – just think about the expectation from Apple fans. Apple has a knack for meeting and exceeding the high expectations. That’s very hard to do. It requires an amazing blend of innovation, execution, expectation setting, and marketing.
I believe that Innovation will be the engine that get us out of our current economic mess. But, how do you build on your past success, continue to innovate, and meet and exceed your customers’ expectations? I guess we’ll soon find out if U2’s new album is a success. At meantime, I’m curious to hear what our fellow readers are doing to innovate and continue to meet customers’ expectations.
