Perseverance through adversity leads to success

If you watched Super Bowl last night, you would be impressed by James Harrison’s record-breaking, 100-yard interception returns. He is also NFL defensive player of the year.

But, did you know that he was cut twice by the Steelers, and cut once by Baltimore Ravens? At one point, Harrison, an undersized 6-foot, 242-pounder, considered quit and become a Greyhound bus driver.

But Harrison came back for one more try in 2004. And there was something about Harrison the Steelers liked. He had a mean streak that fit the tradition of nasty, surly, hard-hitting Steelers linebackers.
