As of 11AM, Friday, November 7, 2008. Tech Industry has laid off a total of 44,190 employees according to TechCrunch.
According to today’s unemployment report released by Department of Labor, the nation’s unemployment rate bolted to a 14-year high of 6.5 percent in October as another 240,000 jobs were cut, far worse than economists expected and stark proof the economy is deteriorating at an alarmingly rapid pace.
It gets pretty depressing to keep hearing the depressing news about the economy and job market. But, it doesn’t help if we keep sitting there and worrying. Screw the bad report and financial crisis. Let’s do as much as we can to take control of our own destiny. That’s the only option we have.
