PRODUCT MANAGER, MAIL (location: MySpace-Seattle)

MySpace is looking for an energetic product manager who is passionate about building great online products and customer experiences. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Invent or enhance products and features on a global scale to improve the user experience and promote cross-site interaction

• Prioritize a variety of feature requests so Engineering works on the most impactful projects first

• Write concise functional requirements for each new product or existing product enhancements, including user scenarios, business justification ,and operational impact

• Measure and report on the impact of new features on usage

• Create preliminary design concepts and mock-ups

• Lead the relevant teams to quickly implement and rollout new updates

• Deep understanding of competitive experiences, what they do well, and what they don’t

• Work with business and marketing teams to find the best way to monetize and promote new products and features

• Run A/B tests of the user experience to test design hypotheses

• Conduct primary or secondary research to better understand users

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

· 2-3 years of Internet product design or product management experience

· Strong advocate of the user experience

· Experience with Internet products and deep knowledge of the industry

· Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with both technical and business experts

· Experience managing simultaneous projects and demonstrated team leadership abilities in a fast-paced environment

· Proven ability to manage direct and indirect teams

Product Manager-Blogs. Location: MySpace- LA, Seattle or San Francisco Candidate

Job Description
The Product Manager is responsible for managing core social networking products through the entire lifecycle. Product Manager’s will gather and prioritize product requirements from executives, sales, marketing, support and engineering. Product Managers will define the product vision and steps to accomplish that vision. They will work closely with engineering, to deliver world class products and will work with international, sales, marketing and support to ensure success metrics and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s will ensure that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.

The Product Manager is expected to:
1. Define the product strategy and roadmap
2. Deliver PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
3. Manage product backlog
4. Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
5. Be an expert with respect to the competition
6. Set success metrics
7. Measure and report against success metrics
8. Represent company stakeholders throughout the process
9. Manage timeline and report delays to all stakeholders
10. Work with sales team to monetize product
11. Act as the product champion within the company

Required experience and knowledge
1. Experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
2. Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
3. 3+ years of experience in a job in the subject matter market
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
6. Technical background, with experience in subject matter
7. Excellent teamwork skills
8. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
9. Experience with social networking and web 2.0 concepts a plus.
